Volumetric Weight Calculator
Knowing volumetric weight helps you understand shipping costs for bulky packages. Carriers charge based on whichever is higher: actual weight or volumetric weight.
Volumetric Weight (kg) = (Length × Width × Height in cm) / 5000
Your chargeable weight determines your actual shipping cost.
Example:
You ship large but lightweight pillows:
Package dimensions: 50cm × 40cm × 30cm
Actual weight: 2 kg
Volumetric Weight = (50 × 40 × 30) / 5000 = 12 kg
Chargeable Weight = MAX(2 kg, 12 kg) = 12 kg
The carrier will charge you for 12 kg, not 2 kg, because your package takes up a lot of space!
